There’s no escaping Taylor Swift. From her billion-dollar “Eras” tour to her engagement with Travis Kelce, Swiftmania is all-encompassing.
Edmonds is game.
Swift’s latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” releases Friday, Oct. 3, and downtown Edmonds businesses are working together to provide a Taylor Takeover celebration for Swifties.
You can spot participating businesses downtown by looking for the orange balloons, or visiting the Taylor Takeover event page. Activities are scheduled all day and are free to attend.
Musicology Co, Edmonds’ woman-owned record store at 420 Fifth Ave S, is the official record release party for the event. The store opens at 10 am and will have activities for all ages, including bracelet making, listening to Taylor Swift albums, and shopping for Taylor-associated merchandise.
A percentage of all sales at Musicology Co. on Oct. 3 will be donated to Women in Vinyl, an organization dedicated to supporting women and underrepresented individuals in the vinyl industry.
Sunlight Gallery, at 102 Fifth Ave. N, offer Swiftie-themed photo ops along with Polaroids, available for purchase. All proceeds from the Polaroids will directly benefit Madrona Children’s Theater.
Molly Moon’s, at Sixth Avenue South and Main Street, will have a Swiftie-inspired ice cream sundae. In addition, Swift tribute artist Swiftified will be performing live at the Main Street Commons stage.
Check the event page for timing announcements.
Other retail businesses across downtown are participating downtown with special Swift activities, celebrations and merchandise, including:
Edmonds restaurants are getting involved as well. Vinbero will be offering special mocktails and cocktails and Kelnero (21-plus) will have a featured Taylor cocktail.
In addition, Vertical Wine Collective, 514 Fifth Ave. S, will be hosting an evening of wine and music. It will be offering exclusive boxed wines.
