Edmonds is getting all “Dolly’d” up to honor the life and legacy of Dolly Parton on Friday, Sept. 25, with a drag show, music, cocktails, karaoke, special merchandise, and a book drive for the Edmonds School District.
A highlight of the celebration is the Dolly Drag Show from 7–9 pm hosted at Fox and Bottle. Scheduled performers include Crystyl Jewyl Box, Holli B. Sinclair, Jizzuhbell Johnson, and DJ Shelrawka.
Tickets are a minimum $20 donation, with proceeds benefiting the ESD book drive. Ages 21+. Tickets can be purchased via Venmo at @Sarah-Portugal-3.
Several other local businesses throughout downtown are joining the celebration:
Because Dolly Parton championed children's literacy, Edmonds Dolly Day is supporting the book drive organized by Edmonds School District librarian Cory Fortin to help stock district libraries with books specifically requested by school librarians.
The book wish list is available on Amazon at bit.ly/ESDdollydrive, with purchased books shipped directly for distribution to every school. Those who prefer to shop local can find select titles at Edmonds Bookshop and Ace Hardware and leave purchased books in the collection bins.
Edmonds Dolly Day offers plenty of ways to pay tribute to an artist whose legacy extended far beyond music to generosity, literacy, and giving back.
