Deborah Arthur writes:

Even if they wanted to most people in Edmonds cannot afford to replace all you suggest. This is a fact. It is also a fact that glass topped stoves too can explode if you lay a lid on them. Also the electric range is not efficient in allowing temp control at all. I have had both. I prefer gas when cooking sauces or anything for that matter. I suspect this forcing people to do things will not go well and would require a STATE level vote. I will fight for that. However if my very dependable for 30 years gas furnace with hepa filters and continued maintance (which we have done) does come to the end of its life I might consider electric heat. But I really hate being told what we should do here. I suspect many others do to. We are retired and now living on a small amount compared to when we were employed but not small enough to get these things FREE. So I guess we will see how this goes. Seems to me we have much more important things right now to attend to them telling us what to do.
