Size matters: Summer Market now begins in May

There've been a variety of street performers at the farmers markets in Edmonds over the years, including this balloon fairy.

The first day of the Edmonds Historical Museum's Garden Market in May has always been a cause for celebration. But why hasn't it matched the Summer Market in size?

That's been taken care of.

The City of Edmonds and the Edmonds-South Snohomish County Historical Society have agreed to combine the Garden and Summer markets – on Fifth Avenue North to Bell Street and Bell Street up to Sixth Avenue North – Saturdays from May 7 to Oct. 8.

Hours will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Other than the change to the size of the event in the early months, the plan for the markets remains the same as in previous year...
