Edmonds School District wants to lease property for homeless parents, students

The Edmonds School District plans to lease land on a baseball field for housing for the homeless.

The Edmonds School District board of directors is ready to approve a resolution that would lease property to an Everett nonprofit, Housing Hope, to develop affordable, permanent housing for homeless students and families in the district.

The lease is expected to result in the development of affordable apartments with up to 50 multistory units. It would be on 2 acres of district-owned property on 58th Avenue West in Lynnwood near Cedar Valley Community School.

The complex would be built on the existing Scriber baseball field.
