Violet Vermilion

Fungi never looked so good.

Violet Vermilion took this picture of an Amanita muscaria, a mushroom commonly known as the fly agaric or fly amanita, posed with the ferry in the background.

Or you could just call it a red mushroom.

They are pretty, but are also classified as toxic to humans. According to Wikipedia, these mushrooms can be found from southern Alaska down through the Rocky Mountains, through Central America, all the way to Andean Colombia.
