"That exhibition was such a surprise," my Mom said as we walked away from Cascadia Art Museum after seeing their current exhibition, "Kenjiro Nomura, American Modernist: An Issei Artist's Journey."
Why surprising? Each of the exhibitions at Cascadia over the past five years has been compelling, beautiful, educational, interesting. But this one, well, in my mother's words, "I was expecting it to be good, but it was exceptional."
