Leanne Shelton: Still dancing after all these years

Have you ever done the can-can? Leanne Shelton does it every year.

Her dancing lessons began at age 5 in a Ballard dance studio. Two years later, her mother signed her up for the Barclay Dance Studio on John Street in downtown Seattle – a move that affected the rest of Shelton's life.

She continued dancing all the way through high school. The Barclay Dance Studio became Shelton's home away from home.

"I loved it," she said.
