Bus driver shortage hurting Edmonds School District

With its current shortage of school bus drivers and the upcoming deadline for staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19, the Edmonds School District is facing the possibility of a loss in transportation for some students.
As a result, the district may need to expand some of its "Walk Zones" to include more families whose students currently ride the bus.
Other possibilities under consideration include issuing free Community Transit passes to help with transportation coverage.
McKinney-Vento students and those in special education will not lose busing.
