School opens in Edmonds, at last!

But not without anxiety.

Questions abound. How will school in Edmonds be different this year with a pandemic still raging? Will wearing masks be a problem? How will students – and teachers – handle this extraordinary moment?

At Scriber Lake High School, English and Leadership teacher Sammy Marr faces the uncertainty with relentless optimism.

Believe it or not, this is actually the third school year of COVID. Schools closed in March 2019. There were no in-person classes in 2020 at all. "Now we're back, but we're still dealing with (the pandemic)" she sai...
