Explosion rocks Edmonds, shatters windows
No one hurt: 'It sounded like a bomb'

A violent explosion at about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, on Sixth Avenue North, which could be heard from as far as the Edmonds fishing pier to those playing petanque at Civic Field, was traced to the back of a U-Haul truck, said Edmonds Police Sgt. Josh McClure.
There were propane tanks in the truck, but McClure said police and the fire marshal have not determined that the tanks were the cause and are investigating.
The explosion caused a fire that was quickly extinguished by firefighters from South County Fire.
No injuries were reported, but several windows in the nearby Crosswater apart...
