Majority of residents will not like the Housing Commission policies | Letter to the Editor

Citizens of Edmonds, this letter asks you to speak up against the Edmonds Citizens Housing Commission's proposed policies to be presented to the mayor and City Council March 16 www.bit.ly/2MYUY9F.

The proposal states it is based on citizen input. However, feedback from the Housing Commission survey showed strong opposition to many of their policy changes, i.e., 78% of residents surveyed were against any changes to single-family zoning.

We know growth is inevitable. It is how you strategically manage growth that matters, to protect the beauty and charm of Edmonds. Do you want single-family...

If it is done it must be equally dispersed all over Edmonds including the wealthiest areas..The Bowl. If not. The reaction will be very bad. I am with the 78% who does not want this at all. There will be trouble I think if the Mayor and Council won't do what over 75% of the citizens of Edmonds want. Please be pro active Edmonds stay firm, contact them. And if they insist on governing this way we must recall all of them. This town is in for a rude awakening like you've never seen before. I hear all the buzz...I nicely suggest you table your plan..shred it and let's diversify this town the correct way.
