It was Mark Cuban (of fame from his billion-dollar wealth, his fame as a successful entrepreneur and owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team) who spoke about automation eliminating upwards of 10 million middle class jobs that he says simply would not be replaced by anything.
He was referring to automation replacing these jobs. And unlike past innovations, these will not be replaced. Things like artificial intelligence, which will start to do intellectual tasks that heretofore were not possible by computerization.
