After being a major donor to the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) for more than 20 years, Heidi Wills stepped in as CEO a little more than a year ago.

Yep. Just as a worldwide pandemic was taking hold.

"All parts of our operations have been significantly impacted by the pandemic," said Wills, who lives in Edmonds with her husband, Kobi Yamada. "I know there seems to be an uptick in adoptions, and even difficulty in finding pets."
