3 a.m. is a precarious time for humans to be riding on planet Earth. As the giant rock we call home orbits the sun and spins on its axis, astronomers say that at 3 in the morning – your time – you're on the side facing into the void.
Sort of like the front row on a roller coaster. So if there were to be something in Earth's path, say an asteroid that nobody spotted, and the Earth smacks into it at 3 a.m. your time, you're history.
