The Community Transit board of directors has named Ric Ilgenfritz as its chief executive officer. He will start Jan. 11.

He succeeds Emmett Heath, retiring this month after 15 years.

Community Transit provides bus, paratransit, vanpool service, and alternative commute options in Snohomish County.
