Wildfire smoke from eastern and central Washington, carried from strong winds, has created smoky conditions in Edmonds and western Washington, leading to unhealthy conditions.

Pictures taken by the Beacon are from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The Washington Department of Ecology put out an unhealthy-air alert.

With the poor air quality, the Snohomish Health District closed its drive-thru testing operations at the Lynnwood Food Bank and 3900 Broadway site in Everett today. The 3900 Broadway site will also be closed on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Staff are notifying all individuals with appointments...
