Virtual 9-11 ceremony includes Edmonds Mayor Mike Nelson

South County Fire will share a virtual video in honor of Sept. 11 victims – which included many firefighters, police, and other first responders, on its Facebook page, to be posted 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11.

The annual memorial ceremony is online for the first time, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Speakers in the video will include Edmonds Mayor Mike Nelson, Acting Police Chief Jim Lawless, retired Snohomish County Fire District 1 Capt. Andy Speier (a former FDNY firefighter), South County Fire Chief Thad Hovis, and Firefighter David Erickson.

It also will include a video of the flag ceremony at the memorial featuring the South County Fire Honor Guard and bugler Debbie Dawson.
