Edmonds-Woodway grad Anna Faris had donated $5,000 to the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce's "Be an Edmonds Kind of Hero" campaign.
"It is thanks to leadership gifts like this and all our amazing donors that we are gaining on our fundraising goal," said chamber CEO and President Greg Urban.
The chamber, which this week furloughed two employees and has had to postpone Taste Edmonds and An Edmonds Kind of Fourth due to the pandemic, has a goal of $100,000.
As of Wednesday afternoon, more than $57,000 has been donated.
Faris, of course, is a Hollywood movie star with such films as "House Bunny," "Scary Movie (1-4)," and "Overboard." She also stars in the TV sitcom "Mom," and hosts the popular podcast "Anna Faris Is Unqualified."
