Sometimes words in print come easily. For example, I can easily write about being the new girl in Mrs. Hall’s second grade class, in the old field house on Sixth Avenue. I can write about my childhood cat Butch, who left without notice one day and returned six months later for breakfast, noncommittal as to his travels.
I can write about being 10 and chubby with an awful haircut and ugly glasses. I can write about starting high school and about my first journalism class in the wonderful old building that now houses the ECA.
I can write about my brother teaching me to drive in his 1955 Ol...
