Fed up.
That’s an apt description for many of the Edmonds Beacon’s readers on Facebook. Taxes. Government. The high cost of living in Edmonds.
Just about any subject is ripe for discussion, and readers aren’t afraid to share their opinions, or to argue their points.
But taxes – fed up.
Need proof? For the first time in years, Edmonds residents joined others in voting down an Edmonds School District bond that would have constructed a new College Place Middle School, among other projects.
You may have sent your kids there. The school is ugly – outdated, unsafe.

It would help greatly if people felt secure in the knowledge that their taxes were well spent, without excessive waste or cost overruns.

You're right. Most Edmonds residents are frustrated & overwhelmed. We shouldn't need a Masters in Finance to follow along with all the smoke & mirrors tax/financial jargon being tossed around that is supposed to explain the reasonings. Some folks feel like the local gov't is trying to pull a fast one on them. Its sad the school bond did not pass as the need is great and our kids deserve better but people are maxed out and overwhelmed and the timing was terrible for that perfect storm.
