MLK: A strong message of light and hope | Home Again

’m writing this the night of Martin Luther King Jr, Day, Jan. 20. This evening, I attended the powerful program called “Be the Light,” a tribute to King presented at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, a program billed as “Inspiring a Beloved Community in Song, Spoken Word and Dance.”

The tribute carried a strong message of light and hope. The evening provided opportunity to recognize numerous individuals and groups for their work in carrying forward King’s work.

In August 1963, King gave his well-known “I Have a Dream” speech, in which he alluded to his dream for his children...
