Eleven-year-old Eli Munoz earned a spot at the 50th Annual Irish Dancing World Championships in Dublin, Ireland.

Eli Munoz, 11, competed at the Western Regional Irish Dancing Championships in Denver, Colorado this past November and earned a coveted qualifying spot to represent the Western Region of the United States at the 50th annual World Irish Dancing Championships in April.

Mukilteo resident Munoz competes with his local Irish dance school, the Carroll-Henderson School of Irish Dancing, and is the school's first dancer to qualify for the World Championships.

The dance school is based in Edmonds at the Frances Anderson Center and Mukilteo at Rosehill Community Center.

The World Irish Dancing Championships attracts around 5,000 of the world's most elite Irish dancers from around the world, and will be held in Dublin, Ireland, this April.

The instructor, Lauren Carroll-Bolger, trained in Ireland and has a bachelor's in Irish music and dance from the University of Limerick.

She is now an Edmonds resident and teaches the tradition of artistic, competitive, and traditional dancing.
