My favorite cookbook, without a doubt, is the oldest one in my collection. It’s my maternal grandmother’s “revised and enlarged” copy of "The Household Searchlight Recipe Book," 12th printing, 1939, 100,000 copies, published by Household Magazine, Topeka, Kansas!
When I was a young girl, I enjoyed getting to know that cookbook, in its leathery black and orange binding. My mother gave the book to me after my beloved grandmother died.
