The one word that best describes the Meadowdale cross country program is “young.”
Sophomore Deklund DeBell leads a Maverick boys team that is sophomore-heavy with just one senior among the top seven runners.
DeBell places seventh in the first Wesco meet of the season against Arlington, Marysville-Getchell and Kamiak Thursday, Sept. 26, at Kamiak High School.
Sophomore Simon Gezai and junior Lance Broderhausen took 15th and 16th and sophomore T.J. North placed 23rd. Senior Casey Cuprynski was 26th.
