Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling has announced that Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director Carrie Hite has resigned. Her last day on the job is July 19.
Hite has accepted a similar position with the City of Redmond, where she will also serve as director of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.
In her resignation note to the mayor, dated June 17, Hite said:
“There seems to be a lot of uncertainty and instability in Edmonds. I know this often happens with the ebb and flow of politics, and I certainly understand and am prepared for that in my role as a municipal leader.
