Nathan Monroe, a member of the Edmonds Planning Commission, kicked off his campaign for Edmonds City Council Thursday, June 6, in Gravity Bar's meeting room on Fifth Avenue South.

Monroe is being challenged by Laura Johnson for Position 7.

Among those in attendance were Mayor Dave Earling, former Mayor Gary Haakenson, mayoral candidate Brad Shipley, City Council candidates Diana White and Vivian Olson, and Port Commissioner David Preston.

Neil Tibbott, who holds Position 7 now but will give it up as he's running for mayor, introduced Monroe, who spoke for a little under three minutes.

Look for a story next week in the Edmonds Beacon.
