This could be a big season for the King’s baseball team.
The Knights return eight of nine starters from a team that recorded the program’s best record 6-9 in the league and 8-14 overall in its brief four-year history.
King’s Jake Beattiger, who has coached the Knights since the start, said this could be a breakthrough season.
“We’re getting to the point where we do have some good talent here,” he said. “We’ve just got to play as a team.”
The Knights did that in their 11-8 season-opening victory over nonconference opponent Vashon Island.
