January 2, 2019

Karen Kay Phillips passed away Dec. 10, 2018, in Edmonds, Washington, after experiencing recent years of declining health.

She was born Dec. 21, 1953, in Seattle and was raised in Edmonds, where she attended primary school and graduated from Edmonds High School in 1972. Karen expressed how she enjoyed her family upbringing within the Greek community, and appreciated the kindness and caring received from them.

Karen was a fan of the Seattle Mariners, and was especially proud of her son’s achievements with the organization.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Joanne F. Phillips; her godfather Al Stasinos; and survived by her father, William V. Phillips; her godmother Thelma Stasinos; son Cory (Danielle) Carbary; and four grandchildren, three siblings and their spouses, two nephews, many cousins and lifelong friends she considered as extended family.
