This week on “Marketplace,” one of my favorite NPR shows, I heard a word not widely used in the American lexicon: “misapprehension.”
Kai Ryssdal, my second-favorite NPR programming host after Lulu Garcia-Navarro (how do you not love a journalist who produced a piece on if one becomes more or less crazy after watching all of Pedro Almodovar movies?), used the word in reference to President Trump’s explanation of how these tariffs would impact the U.S. economy.
