The beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, and daughter of the church, Peggy Olson, died August 9, 2023.
She died peacefully with her husband, Chuck Olson, at her side. In the last few weeks of her life she was surrounded by Chuck and the family they had created.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Olson, and her children Erik Olson, Molly Olson, Chris Olson, Hans Olson, Greg Olson, Katy Olson Janicki, Tom Olson, and Kurt Olson.
She also had a deceased son, Carl Olson, whom she loved dearly. She has two living sisters, Rosemary Knudson and Eileen Weisensee.
We all miss her deeply. Peggy was trained as a nurse in Portland, Oregon, when she met Chuck. Her nursing skills were put to good use as she cared and doted on her nine children, 25 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was passionate about life, including her garden. She became a Master Gardener and belonged to the Floretum Garden Club and Edmonds Garden Club for many years.
Peggy lived her faith deeply. She was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, bringing communion to the sick and homebound, and was a regular Mass attendee.
As part of this faith she brought joy and caring to every relationship, remembering the important events in everyone's lives.
She nurtured her family, ensuring that they all spent time together in harmony. She was the devoted wife of Charles Olson, and their marriage lasted more than 70 years, yet another example of her commitment, faith, and caring that has proven to be a wonderful witness for everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by her son, Father Hans Olson, at Holy Rosary church, Edmonds, August 25 at 11 a.m. Reception following in the parish hall.
