U.S. Sen. Maria Cantwell celebrated the 29-13 Super Bowl victory of the Seattle Seahawks over the New England Patriots with a quote:
“The Dark Side and KWIII didn’t just dominate,” the Edmonds resident said. “They straight up took over the game. Unreal effort all around from Seahawks legends and every 12 around the world who made history tonight. Congratulations Seahawks and 12s!”
On Feb. 5, she joined MSNOW’s “Morning Joe” and made a bet with host and Patriots fan Jonathan Lemire: If the Seahawks win on Sunday, she gets to interview him.
Cantwell and Sen. Edward Markey (D-MA) also sealed a bet on the outcome of Super Bowl LX.
Sen. Cantwell tweeted: "It's on. Seahawks and 12s are going to deliver. Sen. Markey I'll bet you seafood for seafood and beer for beer that we'll be champs -– salmon for lobster, and Rainier for Sam Adams."
Sen. Markey replied: “Game on Senator Cantwell. Massachusetts and Washington may be connected by I-90, but the road to Super Bowl glory runs from Foxborough to Santa Clara. In Drake ‘Drake Maye’ Maye and the Patriots we trust.”
Cantwell got the East Coast lobster and Sam Adams.
On Wednesday, Cantwell celebrated at the Seahawks’ Super Bowl parade in Seattle with King County Executive Girmay Zahilay and Gov. Bob Ferguson.
