Steven Charles Gray was born on December 15, 1942, in Portland, Oregon, and passed away unexpectedly on August 19, 2026.
Steve and his wife and best friend, Marsha, made their home in Edmonds for the last 42 years. When they weren’t on a road trip to Sunriver for fly fishing or enjoying the beach in Hawaii, you could often find Steve on Saturday mornings at Shoreline Cars and Coffee, proudly showing off his purple 1966 Corvette Stingray.
A University of Oregon alum, Steve was quite possibly the biggest Ducks fan outside the state of Oregon. Before retiring, he worked as a Leasing Manager at Time Oil, where he helped a long line of budding entrepreneurs become successful franchise owners.
For family and friends alike, Steve was a steady presence with a big heart and a warm smile, equally ready with a hug or witty comment, depending on what you needed most. He loved his family deeply, and the warmth, humor, and generosity he brought to the people around him will be greatly missed.
Steve is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marsha; children Tiffany McEldowney (Ben), Amy Logan, and Ken Gray (Nicole); grandchildren Dexter, Belle, Gabby, and Faye; siblings Kathy Gray, Rob Gray, and Paul Gray; and many loving family members and friends.
A celebration of life will take place Sunday, September 20 at 1 p.m. at the Edmonds Waterfront Center. Memorials may be made to Seattle Children’s Hospital or the Edmonds Food Bank.
