Dolores Larene Meyer, 93, of The Villages, Florida, passed peacefully on March 14, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospice.
Dolores was born November 9, 1931, to Walter and Clara Eaton in Walla Walla, Washington. She graduated from Yakima High School in 1949, where she was Homecoming Queen and met the love of her life, Derril Meyer. She then went on to earn the title of Miss Yakima.
Dolores married Derril, her high school sweetheart, on March 21, 1950. They attended Central Washington University together in Ellensburg, Washington, where she earned a bachelor’s degree and went on to become a third grade teacher at McKinley Elementary in Yakima.
Dolores moved to Edmonds, where she loved substitute teaching, which gave her the freedom to travel with her husband while raising her three children. She had a passion for singing, dancing, and shopping. Her faith and service to her church were always prioritized.
Dolores is survived by her three children: Lynette (Larry) Jennings, Brett Meyer, and Bryce Meyer; and her grandchildren, Justin Jennings, Brannen Black, and Michael Meyer.
A celebration of life will be held at The Terraces at Summitview (Meyer room) in Yakima on Saturday, July 26, at 1 p.m.
