2 left unconscious after assault at massage business

On Sunday, just before 5:45 p.m., Edmonds officers responded to a reported assault at Eva Spa and Massage in the 9700 Block of Edmonds Way that left two adult female employees unconscious.

According to Cmdr. Josh McClure, a 48-year-old Edmonds man fled on foot after the violent assault.

Multiple witnesses pointed responding officers in the direction of the suspect, and he was taken into custody nearby without incident. The suspect made statements acknowledging his involvement in the assault, but it is unclear as to the motive, McClure said.

One of the women was taken to Swedish Edmonds, and the other to Harborview. Officers are continuing to learn more as this investigation unfolds. No additional information will be released about the victims at this time.
