Edmonds Beacon calls election for Mayor-elect Mike Rosen

Mayor-elect Mike Rosen speaks to a citizen Saturday during a Veterans Day event in Edmonds.

With a lead of more than 1,500 in the latest count from Tuesday's general election, the Edmonds Beacon is calling the race for mayor for Mike Rosen, who has defeated incumbent Mike Nelson.

The latest numbers: Rosen has 8,537 votes, or 54.79% of the total. Nelson, seeking a second term, has 7,008, or 44.98%. The next results will be released Nov. 14 at 5 p.m.

The mayor-elect was in attendance Saturday at the annual Veterans Day ceremony at Edmonds Veterans Plaza. Nelson did not attend.
