Local photographer Janine Harles got up close and personal with several orcas Thursday, Oct. 12, as they passed by Marina Beach at around 5:45 p.m. Pictured are the known T37A2 and T37A orcas at sunset by the fishing pier. Both groups were Bigg's killer whales, transient meat eaters. Their diet included seals, sea lions, porpoises, dolphins, and even larger whale species.
