Edmonds Beacon Editor Brian Soergel won first place in the general news photo category for "Recognizing Sacrifices on Memorial Day," honoring the nation's veterans at the Edmonds Cemetery.
The team at Beacon Publishing garnered 16 awards Saturday at the annual Washington Newspaper Publishers Association convention, including top honors for General Excellence.
