Dorothea Vandeman, 92, of Edmonds passed away at Mountain Meadows Senior Living in Leavenworth on June 21, 2023, of natural causes.

Dorothea was born April 21,1931 to Leslie and Louise DeLong in Doty, Washington. After graduating from Boistfort High School in 1949, she worked as a secretary in Chehalis and Seattle.

Dorothea DeLong married Jack Vandeman in Seattle in 1961. Dorothea and Jack went on to have two children, Julia and John. The family were members of Edmonds First Baptist Church for many years. Later, as empty nesters, Dorothea and Jack fellowshipped with many seniors at Edgewood Baptist Church.

Dorothea was predeceased by husband, Jack; sister Phyllis; and father and mother, Leslie and Louise.

She is survived by Julia and Daniel Weller; Joshua, Trinh, and Jackson Weller; Nathan, Megan, Sofia and Charlotte Weller; John and Victoria Vandeman; and Mitchell Vandeman and Tristine Vandeman.

Dorothea has been laid to rest in Edmonds Memorial Cemetery.
