Roger Pence writes:

There were two communication failures at the City's Greeenways walking tour event on Sunday. First as noted, they failed to alert the public that the event had been cancelled, not due to some emergency but cancelled in advance by a voluntary staff decision. But second and even more egregious, they didn't bother to send someone to the venue to inform the people who would inevitably show up, people like me, Councilmember Olson, the news media, and a half-dozen others. Thankfully, Councilmember Olson found out (quite by accident) that the event was cancelled so she was able to inform the group~ otherwise we would've all been standing around wondering what the heck happened. Truly a failed performance by staff people who report to mayor Nelson. They need to develop some respect for the citizens of this city, they people they ultimately work for.
