A spokesperson for South County Fire says a fire that quickly engulfed trees on the property of a house in the 800 block of Walnut Street may have been intentional.
Shawneri Guzman said that at 8:52 p.m. Tuesday, five trucks responded to the fire and were quickly able to extinguish it.
"It started in the trees dangerously close to the home, but the home is intact," she said, adding that the evergreen trees were green on the outside but had "really dry pine needles" inside.
Nobody was home, but neighbors alerted the homeowners, who captured on video someone throwing firecrackers from their car.
