No firearm found after report at Edmonds-Woodway

Today at 9:22 a.m., Edmonds Police responded to a report of a student in a classroom at Edmonds-Woodway High School possibly armed with a firearm.
All available Edmonds officers responded, with the first officers arriving within three minutes of dispatch, according to police.
Based on the information from school employees, officers accompanied staff as they located the student and escorted the student from class. Officers detained the student without further incident as school staff conducted a safety search as allowed by law. No firearm was recovered.
From the time officers were dispatched to the time the student was detained was about 10 minutes.
Edmonds Police documented the response in an incident report but took no further investigative action. The student was left in the custody of the school staff.
