The mayor of Edmonds is asking the Edmonds City Council for permission to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Washingtons State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) for the purchase of the Unocal property that WSDOT holds in trust....

In agreement with your statement: Shouldn't the City the Edmonds, along with its citizens, decide what is the most appropriate use for this property, whether it be commercialization, a near-shore estuary regional park, or increased housing density? Thank you Councilman Buckshnis for identifying at least three opportunities the City can explore for the former Unocal site. We do not want to be tethered to a MOU which could preclude such planning from taking place.
