Angie and Harper Foy of Edmonds are excited about giving back to Seattle Children's Hospital with a fundraiser called "Gift a Brave Gown to a Brave Kid."
You may recall Harper from an Edmonds Beacon story from 2016: bit.ly/3S1bnHv
Harper was born with a very rare skin condition, harlequin ichthoysis. She spent almost three months at Seattle Children's hospital.
"They became family to us," said Angie. "After Harper was sent home, they invited her back for a very special day that was all about her. We (she) got to be reunited with our favorite doctors and nurses who saved her life and watched over her for me when I couldn't be there.
"They spoiled her with a red-carpet entrance, a dressing room full of her favorite things, including a Seahawks jersey, tutu and helmet, and huge posters of her modeling photos blown up and decorated throughout the dressing room.
"It ended with a photo shoot of her doctors and nurses who took care of her. It was a day we will never forget. We couldn't be more excited to have this opportunity to give back to Seattle Children's Hospital."
The gowns are $25 each, and Harper gets to hand-pick each gown that will be sent to Seattle Children's.
Angie said the goal is to donate 500 gowns.
"How cool would that be to be able to deliver that many gowns to all the sick kids?" she said.
