Joanne Schroedl: 1934-2022

Joanne Beall Schroedl gained her angel wings on Aug. 22, 2022. She passed away peacefully at her home in Edmonds. Joanne was 88 years old.

Joanne's life seemed too short to those of us who knew and loved her, but she left an imprint on our hearts that exceeds the quantity of her time on this earth.

Joanne loved baking and was famous for her cookies, cakes, scones, sweet petals, and of course her raspberry freezer jam using the raspberries from her lovingly tended raspberry patch.

She was very involved at her church, North Sound Church in Edmonds, where she served communion, greeted everyone with her infectious smile, and eventually came to be known as "The Cookie Lady."

The 33 years Joanne lived in her "House on the Hill" at the top of Bell Street were some of the happiest of her life. There she held Easter Egg hunts, Thanksgiving dinners, Christmas gatherings, birthday parties, and summer shindigs for her family and friends. She lived a quiet and happy life there, much of it spent with her favorite little companion, a Yorkie named Willy.

Joanne is survived by her five children: Karen, Timothy, Rob, Kathy, and Anne. Also her 10 grandchildren, and her 7 great-grandchildren.

Her service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at "The Little White Church" (North Sound Church), located at 404 Bell St. Edmonds.
