There's a reason Pacific/Coast rhododendrons are the state flower of Washington state. They are natives, and they are spectacular when blooming.

Local photographer Lee Lageschulte took some shots recently around town.

"These are truly magnificent right now," she said, "as well is the view from on top of the library."
