Masks on, masks off: Mandate lifted
Coverings are now optional for public transportation

In accordance with Monday's statement from the federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA), feel free to shed your face coverings on transit and in transit facilities in the Puget Sound region. That includes ferries.
"Masks are optional for the public inside Washington state ferry terminals or vessels," said ferry spokesperson Ian Sterling on Tuesday.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had recently extended the mask mandate, set to expire April 18, to May 3 to allow more time to study the BA.2 omicron subvariant of the coronavirus.
