Auditor's Office: City found negligent in distributing COVID funding

The City of Edmonds distributed more than $871,000 in federal CARES Acts funds to businesses in the city that did not report their needs correctly, according to a report released by the State Auditor's Office.
The report (bit.ly/3r6rF5D) covered the period of Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2020.
The City's internal controls were inadequate for ensuring compliance with federal requirements for allowable activities and costs and subrecipient monitoring, the report noted.
