Page Kuhn Gorud 1939-2022

Posted

Page was born Nov. 30, 1939, in Portland, Oregon, to Herbert Winfree and Mary Ellen Page. She grew up there with her two brothers, Andy and Bill, attended Lincoln High School, and then Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington.

There she pledged to Kappa Kappa Gamma and met her future husband, Clay Kuhn. They married in Portland in June of 1962 and embarked on an adventure taking them to San Francisco, Phoenix, and finally Seattle, where they stayed and raised two daughters, Lisa and Shannon.

Clay was an Episcopalian reverend for churches in the Diocese of Olympia. Page worked as a medical technician in hospitals in and around Seattle. Upon Clay’s passing in 1987, she bought and loved a little house in Wedgewood that she shared with her cat, Timothy.

She met her husband, Roy Gorud, and they married in May of 2001, surrounded by family, then spent the next wonderful 20 years traveling, having family vacations in Sunriver, and volunteering for many wonderful causes dear to them and loving life in their town of Edmonds.

She was a brilliant cook. She loved gardening, British TV, and reading. Page listened to classical music, and she sang in choirs. She was blessed with many amazing friends, including her book club, Ladies Hiking Society, KKG sorority sisters, and neighbors.

She so loved her family. She was survived by her husband, Roy; brothers Andy and Bill; daughters Lisa Evans and Shannon McCrafrey and their husbands, Scott and Mike; stepdaughters Kristi Waldal and Kara Lawson and their husbands, Ken and Sean; grandchildren Rachel, Andrew, Katie, Kyle, Elyse, and Nathan; and brother-in-law Rik and his wife, Carolyn Kuhn.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Clay, and his parents, Rosalie and William.

She truly brought beauty to everything she touched. We who had her in our lives are profoundly blessed.
