'Seed of Hope': Sunlight enters a sculpture's portal to a glazed bronze seed

Tsovinar Muradyan's "Seed of Hope" can be seen at Esperance Park.

As the cover of Lynnwood artist Tsovinar Muradyan's sculpture at Esperance Park lifted, unveiling her creation, those in attendance stepped forward to glimpse into the work's centerpiece: an organic cavity at the top of the four-foot-high stone piece.

With the sun shining, the portal reveals sunlight and shadow. The light then penetrates the cavity to glint on a glazed bronze sprout.

The sunlight and sprout convey Muradyan's message, "Hope grows where light is given." Muradyan said the sculpture, "Seed of Hope," was inspired by the expression "And then there was light" from the Book of Gene...
